Michael Heilemann Joins Fox Interactive

May 24, 2001 – Fox Interactive announced today the appointment of Michael R. Heilemann as its new Director of Technology. With over a decade of experience in video game production, Heilemann is recognized for his contributions to Electronic Arts’ best-selling NHL software franchise and brings his technical expertise to further bolster Fox Interactive’s development efforts.

In his new role, Heilemann will report to Michael Pole, Senior Vice President of Product Development, and will oversee the company’s software development, technical research, and partnerships with key hardware manufacturers, including Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony.

“Michael’s extensive experience and proven leadership in the gaming industry make him an invaluable addition to our team,” said Pole. “As Fox Interactive continues to grow under our evolving business model, his technical expertise will be key in expanding our properties into new and immersive interactive entertainment.”

Before joining Fox Interactive, Heilemann worked at Electronic Arts Canada, where he served as a Senior Software Engineer. While at EA, he played a pivotal role in leading the discovery phase for Xbox and GameCube game development and was the lead engineer behind the successful NHL 2001 for PlayStation 2 and PC, as well as NHL 2000 for PlayStation.

Prior to his tenure at EA, Heilemann worked at DreamWorks Interactive, where he was the lead programmer for major titles like Medal of Honor and Lost World: Jurassic Park for PlayStation. He began his career as a game engineer at Malibu Interactive, contributing to titles like Celebrity Poker for PC, Techmo Hockey for Sega Genesis, and Jimmy Johnson’s VR Football for PlayStation.
